Whilst Becky often likes to remain in the background what makes her so special is that she is modest about her talents @mrsmatherxox @HWDudley @JustStraightTalk @jbmfcook @DudleyCVS

Becky is a 19 year old young woman has been volunteering with the Dudley Young Health Champions projects for several months. Becky first was referred to the project through her participation with Just Straight Talk, to help build and develop her confidence after experiencing several years of anxiety and depression which affected her home life, her health and her education. Despite being a very talented artist and being very intelligent Becky has faced constant challenges in her day to day life which have affected her ability to communicate with other people, believe in herself and have the confidence to do things which many of us take for granted such as making a phone call.

Kiera is an inspirational young woman, using her own experience to help others @jbmfcook @DudleyCVS

Keira’s journey is a really important factor that has shaped her passion and commitment to ensure individuals who suffered as she did have a more positive experience. A further driver is her strength and determination to ensure she is the best possible mum that she can be to Leila Mai (who is now 1 yrs old) and share her knowledge to support other young parents.

Sheila is inspiring @MarkAxcellNHS @DudleyCVS

Sheila is inspiring. Despite personal illness she has continued with this venture. She has produced and directed shows and pantomimes.  Religious occasions at Christmas. Day trips and trips to the theatre and sea side. She always has a smile on her face.  Makes everyone feel valued and welcome. A wonderful person who deserves some recognition. She has written her own scripts. Thank you so much for all your work and kindness. She is one in a million.

Darren has overcome his own injury to return to the sport he loves @DudleyCVS

Darren has overcome his own serious brain injury, that required surgery, to return to the sport that he quite clearly loves and in doing so has been able to put something back not only into the sport but into the community in Woodsetton. The re-use of the former church building in Sedgley Road has created a vibrant activity hub that caters for serious boxers but also allows young people to exercise and to train.
